Aldo Alexander Bombardo, 80, of Du Quoin, passed away at 8:38 P.M., Saturday, August 1, 2026 at the St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Aldo had worked at Phelps Dodge.  He had also worked on the railroad for Indiana Harbor Belt.  Aldo was of the Catholic faith.  He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He was born August 7, 1945 in Gary, IN, the son of Aldo John and Betty (Babarik) Bombardo.
He married Linda Mitchell on October 16, 1964 in Portage, IN.
He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin, three children - Aldo Bombardo, Jr. and Rita Koy of Du Quoin, Diana Gustafson and Raymond of Beulah, MI, and Amber Carrothers and Rodney L. of Du Quoin, five grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father - Richard Smith, and one daughter-in-law - Rhonda Bombardo.
Per Aldo's request, cremation rites were accorded.
There will be no public visitation or funeral services.
Friends may make memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and will be accepted at the funeral home.
