Arline Joyce McIntire, known as Joyce, went home to be with the Lord on February 16, 2024 at the age of 91 while residing at Bayshore Guest Home and Gardens in Nokomis, Florida.
Joyce was born January 27, 1933 in Du Quoin, Illinois to her parents John and Arlene Yehling.  She had two sisters Alayne Moore and Phyllis Morris.
She married Dr. Bob McIntire in 1952 and treasured their 66 years together until his passing in December, 2018.  They raised their beautiful family in Du Quoin, before retiring to the Meadows Country Club community in Sarasota, Florida. She attended secretarial school in St. Louis and worked doing shorthand and typing.  She worked with Dr. Bob in his office during the early years of their dental business and then became a full-time mother of four.  She participated with her husband on multiple mission trips all around the world, and enjoyed playing bridge, golf, cruising, and travel.  They were both very active at First Baptist Church of Du Quoin and First Baptist Church, Sarasota.
Joyce McIntire is survived by Alan (Gayla) McIntire of Virden, Illinois, Diana (Mike) Roberts of Venice, Florida, Elaine Pierce of Venice, Florida and David (Jane) McIntire of Du Quoin, Illinois.  She is blessed with 12 grandchildren and many, many great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, February 24, 2024 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Joe Wagner officiating.
Friends may call from 9 A.M. until the time of service on Saturday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin.
In lieu of flowers, friends may make memorials to the International Missions Board (IMB.org) or Samaritan's Purse and will be accepted at the funeral home.
