Audrey Jane Luthy, 86, of Du Quoin, passed away at 1:21 A.M., Thursday, August 25, 2022 at the Du Quoin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Audrey had been a farm wife and homemaker. She had also worked at Country Set, Marks Bakery and Gold Plate. She was a member of Dowell Baptist Church.
She was born March 9, 1936 in Dowell, IL, the daughter of Joseph and Frances (Vancil) Hemmer.
She married Jack L. Luthy on August 15, 1954 at Paradise Baptist Church in Tamaroa and he preceded her in death on April 2, 2022.
She is survived by four children - Janice Zakinski and husband Stan of Du Quoin, Jackie Mills of New Douglas, IL, David Luthy and wife Andrea of Du Quoin, and Joe Luthy and wife Christina of Hillsboro, MO, eight grandchildren - Jennie Cook and husband Kenny, Jesse Zakinski and wife Karley, Jennifer Church and husband Roger, Debi Mills, Summer Vanderbilt and husband Matt, Caseton Luthy and wife Ayla, Abbey Luthy, and Brittany Stanton and husband Jacob, and seven great grandchildren and one on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one sister - Mary Lou Hemmer.
Graveside services will be at 3:00 P.M., Sunday, August 28, 2022 at the McElvain Cemetery in Du Quoin with Rev. Phillip White officiating.
Those attending the service are asked to go directly to the cemetery.
Burial will be in the McElvain Cemetery in Du Quoin.
Friends may make memorials to the Dowell Baptist Church or the Gideons International and will be accepted at the funeral home.
