Audrey Rich, aged 96, formerly a long-time resident of Marion, Illinois, peacefully passed away at 12 p.m. on Saturday, January 6, at her residence in Cypress, Texas, where she lived with her daughter.
Audrey was born on February 22, 1927, in Elkville, Illinois, to Fred and Nellie Wisely. She was a loving housewife and mother, later serving as a nurse's aide at Methodist Hospital on Dr. DeBakey's floor in Houston, TX.
Audrey was a devoted, religious woman who faithfully served the Lord throughout her life and taught in the children's ministry. Her unwavering kindness and care were evident in her dedicated support for family members during times of sickness, and she served as a devoted caretaker for her sister in her later years. She enjoyed watching basketball, baseball, and football games, as well as listening to gospel music and engaging in arts and crafts. She especially relished spending quality time and playing games with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Audrey is survived by her brother, Tom Wisely, of Sun City, FL, and her children: Janet Rich Schulz of Houston, TX; Jim Rich of Katy, TX; Jerrall Rich of Charlotte, NC. Additionally, she leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, all of whom will miss her dearly!
Graveside services will be at 11:00 A.M., Friday, January 19, 2024 at the Elkville Cemetery in Elkville, IL with Rev. Joe Wagner officiating.
Those attending the service are asked to go directly to the cemetery.
Burial will be in the Elkville Cemetery in Elkville, IL.
