Beverly Jean Bailey, 76, of Du Quoin, passed away at 2:45 P.M., Sunday, January 14, 2024 at her residence.
Beverly had been a homemaker.  She worked at Gilster Mary Lee, a security guard at Technicolor and at the Department of Public Aid office.  She was of the Baptist faith.
She was born November 30, 1947 in Morris, IL, the daughter of Jewel and Betty (Davy) Buttry.
She married Lester Eugene Bailey on November 24, 1979 in Du Quoin, IL, and he preceded her in death on March 13, 2004.
She is survived by two daughters - Samantha Barnett and husband Steven and Jeanie Bailey, all of Du Quoin, six grandchildren - Viola Bailey, Vivian Bailey, Kristopher Boomer, Travis Barnett, Erica Barnett, and Cole Barnett, three great grandchildren - Paisley Barnett, Blake Barnett, and Lincoln Barnett, and one brother - David Buttry of Clearlake, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers - Jewel Buttry and Randy Buttry.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M., Monday, January 22, 2024 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Pastor Charles Allen officiating.
Friends may call from 10 A.M. until the time of service on Monday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin.
Friends may make memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and will be accepted at the funeral home.
