Brian K. Cornett, 56, of Du Quoin, passed away at 8:35 A.M., Thursday, January 16, 2025 at Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.
Brian had worked in the technology industry for many years.  He had worked for Best Western in the IT department.  Brian also worked at TMS for several years.  He was big into Star Wars and Star Trek and enjoyed Comic Con.  He was an avid online gamer and big reader.  He also had two cats who loved him dearly, Kalie and Shadow.
He was born August 12, 1968 in Du Quoin, IL, the son of Clyde and Anna (Sizemore) Cornett.
He married Rachel Halford on October 31, 2014 and she preceded him in death on October 31, 2022.
He is survived by his mother - Anna Heape of Mulkeytown, siblings - Kevin Roy Oestreicher and wife Dawn of Du Quoin, Tracy Haney and husband Sean of Du Quoin, Paula Beckham and wife Tisha of Dowell, Kerry Oestreicher and wife Natosha of Du Quoin, and Lennet Gibbs and boyfriend Jeremy of Murphysboro, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, wife, two step fathers - Donald Heape and Darrell Oestreicher, two sets of grandparents and several aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, January 18, 2025 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Joe Wagner officiating.
Friends may call from 10 A.M. until the time of service on Saturday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Burial will be in the Old Du Quoin Cemetery in Du Quoin, IL at a later date.
Friends may make memorials to Fresenius Dialysis Center and will be accepted at the funeral home.
