Carl Ray Calhoun, 76, of Elkville, passed away at 6:34 A.M., Friday, May 30, 2025 at the SIH Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, IL.
Carl had worked as an appliance repairman for Mid America Service for thirty-five years.  He was of the Pentecostal faith.  He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed watching Cardinal baseball on TV.  Carl loved to play golf and enjoyed playing with his grandkids.
He was born December 23, 1948 in Carbondale, IL, the son of Carl S. and Juanita (Bonds) Calhoun.
He married Jeannine S. Cox on October 29, 1967 in Carbondale, IL and she survives.
He is survived by his wife of Elkville, two children - Russell Calhoun and Stacie Creston, both of Elkville, three grandchildren - Joshua Lively, Madison Anna, and Jordan McClure, one great granddaughter - Madilynn Anna, two sisters - Brenda Lindsey of Hurst, IL and Wanda Woods of Pittsburg, IL, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters - Carolyn Calhoun and Mary Jane Woods.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M., Monday, June 2, 2025 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Joe Wagner officiating.
Friends may call from 9 A.M. until the time of service on Monday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Burial will be in the Hallidayboro Cemetery in Hallidayboro, IL.
Friends may make memorials to the Alzheimer's Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
