Carol Sue Leggans, 75, of Du Quoin, passed away at 1:51 A.M., Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at her residence.
Carol had been a homemaker. She was a member of the First Church of Nazarene in Du Quoin, where she was song leader and missionary president. Carol volunteered her time to many organizations in the community. She was a member of Quilts of Valor.
She was born August 20, 1947 in Winkle, IL, the daughter of Melroy Francis and Ella (Nevill) Ogilvie.
She married Richard "Lefty" Leggans on July 10, 1988 in Du Quoin, IL and he survives.
She is survived by her husband of Du Quoin, six children - Darrell Burnett and wife Marilyn of Arlington, TN, Rhonda Crabtree and husband James of Cutler, Richard Wayne Beckman of Carbondale, Janece Beckman and husband Damon of Herod, IL, Jaime Nehring and husband Brandon of Du Quoin, and Doug Leggans and wife Anna of Elkville, four brothers - Danny Ogilvie and wife Darlene, Ernie Ogilvie and wife Shirley, Kenny Ogilvie, and Ronnie Ogilvie, all of Coulterville, one sister-in-law - Marilyn Ogilvie, twenty-three grandchildren, thirty-four great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother - Lonnie Ogilvie, and one granddaughter - Katie Beckman.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, February 11, 2023 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Larry Barnhart officiating.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 P.M., Friday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Burial will be in the Elkville Cemetery in Elkville, IL.
