Rev. Charles L. "C.L." McKinnies, 92, of Du Quoin, passed away at 6:30 P.M., Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at the Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.
C.L. had been ordained in 1961 as a United Pentecostal Preacher. He served for forty-two years as Pastor of the United Pentecostal Church in Du Quoin. He was a United States Navy veteran.
He was born January 14, 1929 at Carbondale, IL, the son of Floyd and Lucille (Tippy) McKinnies.
He married Wilma D. Cobb on November 24, 1945 at Carbondale, IL and she preceded him in death on August 21, 2013. He then married Brenda Taylor on November 25, 2015 at Du Quoin, IL and she preceded him in death in June of 2017.
He is survived by four children - Dan McKinnies and wife Karla, LaVonna Kerley, Chuck McKinnies and wife Merla, and David McKinnies and wife Angie, all of Du Quoin, one daughter-in-law - Marsha McKinnies of Du Quoin, one son-in-law - Ed Hughes of Du Quoin, one sister - Darla Rouleau of Flint, MI, sixteen grandchildren, thirty-four great grandchildren and ten great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two wives, one son - John McKinnies, one daughter - Connie Hughes, and two brothers - Robert McKinnies and Bill McKinnies.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M., Sunday, December 12, 2021 at the United Pentecostal Church in Du Quoin with Rev. Dan McKinnies officiating.
Friends may call from 1 to 4 P.M., Saturday, December 11, 2021 at the church and from 9 A.M. until the time of service on Sunday at the church.

Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin.
Friends may make memorials to the United Pentecostal Church Building Fund and will be accepted at the funeral home.
