Charles Leo Ramsey Sr., 93, of West Frankfort, passed away at 8:15 P.M., Saturday, March 30, 2024 at SIH Herrin Hospital in Herrin.

Charles was a welder in metal fabrication.  He had a passion for his family, friends, and fishing.

He was born March 11, 1931 in Mulkeytown, IL, the son of Lyle "Poker" and Myrtle (Farris) Ramsey.

Charles is survived by his partner - Nevada Jones and her Great Grandson Isaiah Jones of West Frankfort, his Children - Ronald Ramsey of Anchorage, AK, Reba Williams of Thompsonville, IL, Sharon Ragland (Jeffery, Sr) of Tamaroa, IL, Charles L Ramsey, Jr (Janice and Son Matty) of West Frankfort, IL, and Charla Hall (Justin and Daughters - Summer Hall and Katlyn Hall) of Bell Rive, IL.  He was blessed and survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents - Lyle "Poker" and Myrtle Ramsey, daughter - Julee Pritchard, son - Mitch Mann, two sisters, one brother, nephews, and many extended family members.

Per Charles request, cremation rites will be accorded.

Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin is in charge of arrangements.

He never knew a stranger, loved many and was loved by many.
