Dalton Ray Landis, 82, of Du Quoin, passed away at 9:30 P.M., Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at the Pinckneyville Nursing and Rehab.
Ray had been a coal miner. He was a United States Army veteran.
He was born September 17, 1938 at Springfield, WV, the son of Clyde E. and Nellie (Boyer) Landis.
He married Clara May Swallers on January 18, 1961 at Du Quoin, IL and she preceded him in death on July 9, 1991.
He is survived by one son - Samuel S. Landis of Du Quoin, two grandchildren - Ashley Bell and husband Brian of Winter Haven, FL, and Alex Gibson of Nashville, TN, two great grandchildren - Dayton Hamilton and Christopher Dunmyer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one daughter - Kimberly Gibson and numerous brothers and sisters.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at the Old Du Quoin Cemetery at Du Quoin with Rev. Ted Clark officiating.
Those attending the service are asked to go directly to the cemetery.
Burial will be in the Old Du Quoin Cemetery at Du Quoin.
