Dayonna Nicole Whitfield-Peters, 20, of Du Quoin, passed away at 10:22 P.M., Saturday, October 24, 2026 in Anna, IL.
Dayonna worked at Taco Bell in Du Quoin.  She had attended Du Quoin High School.  Dayonna had a lot of friends, an outgoing personality, and was easy to get along with.  She was always happy to be around her friends and family.  She enjoyed astrology and crystals.  Dayonna also enjoyed walks in the woods, nature and flowers.
She was born August 24, 2006 in Sparta, IL, the daughter of David and Nicole (Knapp) Peters.
She is survived by her mother and step father - Nicole and Seth Dixon of Du Quoin, her father - David Peters of Du Quoin, siblings - Matthew Rees of Carbondale, Michael Daniel of Du Quoin, Collin Dixon of Tennessee, Makayla Davis of Du Quoin, David Peters of Du Quoin, and Aiden Dixon of Du Quoin, grandparents - Carol Peters, Clay and Evelyn Dixon and Anita Hoerchler, aunts and uncle - Tammy Prior, Judy Peters, Michelle Peters, Kelly Peters, Amanda Sowers and husband Josh, and Amber Hennrich, great aunt - Sue Dixon, great uncles - Kent Dixon and Todd Dixon, and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents - Clarence Peters and Josie B. Whitfield, and maternal grandmother - Donna Hammack.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, October 29, 2026 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Pastor Reverend KJ Williams, Jr. and Reverend Shirley Farmer officiating.
