Delmar A. Gravot, 82, of Carbondale, formerly of Du Quoin, passed away at 1:30 A.M., Sunday, February 18, 2024 at the Manor Court of Carbondale.
Delmar had been an auto mechanic and a coal miner at Consol #2.  He was a member of the Elkville Baptist Church.  Delmar was also a member of UMWA.
He was born August 9, 1941 in East St. Louis, IL, the son of Elmer and Erna (Lauermann) Gravot.
He married Beverly Ann Chapman on February 11, 1983 in Hollywood Heights, IL and she preceded him in death on February 18, 2018.
He is survived by four children - Mark Gravot of Du Quoin, Laura Cochran of Murphysboro, Julie Zuercher of Harrisburg, PA, and Josh Gravot of Murfreesboro, TN, one brother - Elmer Gravot of Mascoutah, IL, one sister - Judy Corgan of Caseyville, IL, two sisters-in-law - Doris Crocker and Sarah Bouse, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin, IL.
