Dennis Roy Welch, 69, of Tamaroa, passed away at 2:31 P.M., Monday, October 23, 2023 at his residence.
Dennis had been a coal miner.  He also had worked in maintenance and as an electrician for Komatsu America in Peoria, IL.  Dennis was a member of Good Shepherd Baptist Church in Henry, IL.  He enjoyed fishing and guns.  Dennis was a bee keeper and a member of UMWA and Boiler Makers.
He was born December 19, 1953 in Du Quoin, IL, the son of Leroy and Betty Ann (Wild) Welch.
He married Kathy Hill on November 18, 1978 in Tamaroa, IL and she survives.
He is survived by his wife of Tamaroa, two daughters - Ellie Butcher and husband Jess and Erin Wagenbach and husband Keith, all of Sparland, IL, four grandchildren - Krystal, Karter, Kendall, and Kamryn, one brother - Charles Welch and wife Sharon of Florida, one sister - Barbara Hill and husband Dale of Steeleville, IL, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother - Kevin Dale Welch.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 A.M., Friday, October 27, 2023 at the Antioch Cemetery in Tamaroa with Rev. Rob Mathis officiating.
Those attending the service are asked to go directly to the cemetery.
Burial will be in the Antioch Cemetery in Tamaroa, IL.
Friends may make memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and will be accepted at the funeral home.
