Mrs. Dorcie G. Pigg of Du Quoin, IL, passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2020 at 6:41 P.M. at Carbondale Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, IL. She was 82 years old.

Dorcie was born June 10, 1938 in Sandoval, IL to Dessman and Mercy (Yoak) Gumm. She was married to Harold D. Pigg on June 10, 1956 at Bethel Baptist Church in Odin, IL and he survives.

She had been a homemaker and had also worked for several years as a Buyer for Fare Foods in Du Quoin. She enjoyed spending time with her husband and family. She was a member of Vision Church of Du Quoin.

In addition to her husband Harold of Du Quoin, Dorcie is survived by two children - Ronald Pigg and wife Terri of Du Quoin and Sandi Green and husband Ronnie of Du Quoin, three grandchildren - Dillon Green of Du Quoin, Richard Pigg of Paducah, KY, and Brianna Green and fiancé Travis Chapman of Du Quoin, two great grandchildren - Owen and Coulter, both of Du Quoin, one brother - Destal Gumm and wife Diane of Mountain Home, AR along with nieces, nephews, friends and Nuisance her cat.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister - Delana Hull, three brothers and their wives - Delmar and Isabelle Gumm, Denzel and Susie Gumm and Dowen and Sheila Gumm.

Per the wishes of Dorcie and her family, cremation was performed. Private graveside services will be held at Deadmond Cemetery in Odin, IL with Pastor Nathan Jackson officiating. There will be no public services.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Vision Church of Du Quoin and will be accepted at the funeral home.
