Doris Jean Neff, 91, of Du Quoin, departed this life on March 13, 2025 at her residence to join her Savior Jesus Christ in Heaven. Jean came into this life on August 11, 1933 at St. Louis, MO to the parents of Sherman and Maybelle (Dunham) Davidson. Jean was bold for her Savior Jesus and loved to help others any way she could. She was a member of Faith Assembly of God for many years and volunteered for many years at the auxiliary for Marshall Browning Hospital and the Little Disciples Ministry. Her commitment to the volunteering beautifully illustrated her warm hearted spirit, always prioritizing the needs of others above her own.
The charm of a yard sale was always too tempting for her to pass up. She would often pause to discover forgotten treasures, her genuine curiosity blending seamlessly with her kind nature. Yet nothing filled her heart with greater joy than caring for her family as she generously poured her love and compassion into every precious moment shared with them.
Survivors include her husband Chet Neff of 57 years, her children - Rick (Robin) Walker of Golden, IL, Brenda (Donnie) Gansman of Moscow Mills, MO, David Walker of Warrenton, MO, Kelly Garcia of Pinckneyville, IL, Tim Walker of Du Quoin, IL, twenty-four grandchildren, thirty-seven great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sons - Terry Walker, Steven Walker, and Butch Neff, two grandchildren - Erica Hastings and Johnny Million, and three sisters.
