Doris Mae Whitecotton, 90, of Du Quoin passed away at 5:15 P.M. Thursday, July 15, 2021 at the SIH Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.
Doris was a homemaker and a member of the Du Quoin Church of Christ.
She was born April 15, 1931 at Murphysboro, IL the daughter of Austin and Nellie (Nance) Johnson.
Doris married Jacob R. Whitecotton on July 2, 1949 at Murphysboro, IL and he preceded her in death April 15, 2008.
She is survived by daughter-Cindy Rae Adams of Carbondale, son-in-law- John Southard of New Baden, granddaughter- Katie Southard of New Baden and grandson- Jacob Henry Southard of New Baden.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and daughter- Nell Rose Southard and brother- Floyd Johnson.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at the Blairsville Cemetery in Blairsville with Bro. Gerald Gowen officiating.
Those attending the services are asked to go directly to the cemetery.
Burial will be in the Blairsville Cemetery.
Friends may make memorials to the Du Quoin Church of Christ or to the Alzheimer's Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
