Dortha M. Frost, 87, of Tamaroa, passed away at 2:30 P.M., Thursday, June 27, 2024 at her residence.
She had worked at the Ashley Candy Factory, Bridal Originals, Decca, and was a homemaker. She was of the baptist faith. She enjoyed spending time with all of her grandkids and taking care of her four little dogs.  She enjoyed her flowers, watching the birds, working in the yard, and sitting outside on her swing.  She enjoyed watching court shows and going to Goodwill.
Dortha was born June 12, 1937 in Tamaroa, IL the daughter of Frank and Laura (Moore) Knapp.
She married Alexander Frost in 1955 in Tamaroa, IL and he preceded her in death in 2012.
Dortha is survived by one son - Mike Frost and wife Judy of Du Quoin, one daughter - Debbie Horton of Scheller, seven grandchildren - Dawn McIntosh and husband Alan of Du Quoin, Justin Valentine of Du Quoin, Nicole Ward and husband Tony of De Funiak Springs, FL, Amber Lewis and husband Randal of Pinckneyville, Jourdain Frost and wife Kaitlin of Mt. Vernon, Dalton Frost of Du Quoin, and Devin Frost of Sesser, eight great grandchildren - Zachary McIntosh, Zane Perry, Kaylee McIntosh and Chad, Skylar Frost, Willow Craig, Railynn Moser, Knox Frost, and Hudson Frost, great great grandchildren - Penelope Smith, Myles Nehring, Zella Perry, and a baby boy on the way, eight step grandchildren - Laura Henson and Jacob of Buckner, Jacquelyn Amberger of Eldorado, Rebecca Henson, Joseph Henson, Adilynn Flood, Jackson Johannes, Remington Amberger, and Barrett Amberger, one sister-in-law - Sandy Knapp, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters - Margie Downen and Verna Bird, two brothers - Leonard and Kenny Knapp, and one grandson - Gunner Frost.
Per Dortha's request, cremation rites were accorded.
There will be no public visitation or funeral service.
