Effie Jane Gauch, 87, of Elkville, passed away at 8:55 A.M., Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
Effie had worked as a clerk for the Jackson County Treasurer.  She was of the Methodist faith.
She was born July 29, 1937 in Du Quoin, IL, the daughter of James and Charity (Patton) Alvis.
She married William Gauch, Jr. on March 30, 1962 in Pinckneyville, IL and he preceded her in death on February 3, 2018.
She is survived by five children - Nyle Ford and wife Jacque of Sunfield, Jackie (Ford) Williams of Elkville, Patty Buser and husband Keith of Elkville, Bill Gauch and wife Brenda of Springfield, and Michael Gauch and wife Angela of Harrisburg, fourteen grandkids, sixteen great grandkids, seven great great grandkids, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, three sisters, and one sister-in-law.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, May 24, 2025 at the Elkville Christian Church in Elkville, IL with Brandon Buser officiating.
Friends may call from 9 A.M. until the time of service on Saturday at the church.
Burial will be in the Elkville Cemetery in Elkville, IL.
Friends may make memorials to Residential Hospice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
