Elizabeth Nan Mason, 57, of Sesser, passed away at 4:52 P.M., Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at the St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Nan had been a hairstylist.  She had worked at J.C. Penney Salon in Mt. Vernon and also taught cosmetology at Rend Lake College.  Nan was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Du Quoin.
She was born April 22, 1966 in Du Quoin, IL, the daughter of Harry W. and Elizabeth Nan (Elder) Huite.
She married Dave Mason on May 4, 1994 in Benton, IL and he survives.
She is survived by her husband of Sesser, one son - Jeffrey Scott of Eldorado, one daughter - Katherine Scott of Benton, one step daughter - Jami Mason, father and step mother - Harry and Patricia Huite of Du Quoin who had raised her, two grandchildren - Jack Scott and Adalynn Scott, one step grandson - Austin Sphon, siblings - David Morgenstern and wife Becky of Peoria, IL, Douglas Morgenstern and wife Marsha of Du Quoin, Alan Huite and wife Allyson of San Antonio, TX, Lori Elder of Eureka, MO, Kimberly Hennrich and husband Sam of Sparta, IL, Susan Ferry and husband Nelson of Taft, TN, and Joe Elder and wife Mary of Gastonia, NC.
She was preceded in death by her mother and grandparents.
Memorial services will be at 4:00 P.M., Saturday, December 30, 2023 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Joe Wagner officiating.
Friend may call from 3 P.M. until the time of service on Saturday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Inurnment will be in the Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin at a later date.
Friends may make memorials to the American Cancer Society and will be accepted at the funeral home.
