Evelyn Ludene Teel, 83, of Du Quoin, passed away at 4:35 P.M., Thursday, October 6, 2022 at the Du Quoin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Ludene had been a clerk at the Farm Fresh Milk Store in Du Quoin and delivered the Du Quoin Call for many years. She was a member of the Du Quoin Church of the Nazarene.
Ludene was born June 24, 1939 at Herrin, IL, the daughter of Woodrow and Helen Marie (Sanders) Kirk.
She married Lee Teel on March 14, 1995 at Washington, IL and he preceded her in death on May 10, 2013.
She is survived by one daughter - Cheryl Pelker of Du Quoin, one grandson - Justin Pelker and wife Penny of Herrin, four great grandchildren - Talan, Marlee, Huntlee, and Deagan all of Herrin, one brother - Dennis Kirk of Johnston City, and one nephew - Brian Kirk of Johnston City.
Ludene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son in infancy, one son-in-law - Douglas Pelker, one brother - Jerry Kirk and one sister-in-law - Yvonne Kirk.
Memorial service will be at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, October 15, 2022 at the Du Quoin Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Larry Barnhart officiating.
Friends may call from 9A.M. until the time of service on Saturday at the church.
Burial will be at a later date.
Friends may make memorials to Hospice of Southern Illinois or to the Perry County Humane Society and will be accepted at the funeral home
