Frank Stanley Dunmyer, Jr., 59, of Elkville, passed away at 2:51 P.M., Saturday, February 21, 2026 at the SIH Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
Frank had worked as an equipment operator for Operating Engineers Local 520.  He was of the Pentecostal faith.  Frank was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 520 and the Du Quoin Eagles Lodge.  He loved running heavy equipment, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.  Frank never knew a stranger.
He was born January 6, 1967 in Kankakee, IL, the son of Frank S. and Ilene (Tilley) Dunmyer, Sr.
He is survived by one daughter - Valerie Dunmyer of Coulterville, two step daughters - LaChrisha and Laura, both of Du Quoin, five grandchildren - Webb, Lyllyian, Dannicka, Quinnley, and Aaliyah, two step grandchildren - Lily and Paislee, four siblings - Gordon Dunmyer and Barb of Dowell, Sue Ellen Pyron and Roger of Du Quoin, George Dunmyer and Heather of New Minden, and Patricia Ann Robinson and Brent of Lake of Egypt, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister - Charlotte Barnes.
Memorial services will be at 7:00 P.M., Friday, February 27, 2026 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Pastor Joe Dunmyer officiating.
Friends may call from 5 P.M. until the time of service on Friday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Friends may make memorials to the family with donations made to Valerie Dunmyer and will be accepted at the funeral home.
