Gary Wayne Pyle, 77, of Du Quoin, passed away at 8:45 P.M., Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at the Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, IN.
Gary had worked as a lineman for Illinois Power Company/Ameren and retired on September 29, 2005. He was a member of the St. John's United Church of Christ in Du Quoin. Gary was also a member of the Du Quoin Masonic Lodge, NRA, and SAS (Single Action Shooting).
He was born September 7, 1943 at Du Quoin, IL, the son of Wayne Harley and Maxine Francine (Ivester) Pyle.
He married Jean E. Davison on September 3, 1982 at the St. John's United Church of Christ in Du Quoin and she survives.
He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin, one son - Shawn Wayne Pyle and wife Kim of Du Quoin, one daughter - Carol Ann McDonald and husband Ron of Pinckneyville, two step daughters - Cathy Krone and husband Mark of Du Quoin and JoDee Reidelberger of Tempe, AZ, one brother - Kevin Pyle and wife Janice of Du Quoin, one nephew - Holden Pyle of Du Quoin, one niece - Jill VanZandt and husband Jason of Du Quoin, special friend - Lois Hirsch of Du Quoin, eight grandchildren, one great grandchild, and three great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew - Rodney Pyle.
Per Gary's request, cremation rites were accorded. There will be no public visitation or funeral service.
Friends may make memorials to the St. John's United Church of Christ in Du Quoin and will be accepted at the funeral home.
