Gene Allen Cochran, 94, of Elkville, passed away at 8:00 P.M., Friday, August 7, 2026 at his residence.
He was born May 16, 1932, to Henry and Della Cochran of Elkville, Illinois, and he married Pat Sage on June 29, 1957.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings: Joe Cochran, Mary Schmidt, Barbara Watson, Don Cochran, and Donna Shupe. He is survived by his wife, Pat; three children (Jeff Cochran, Jill Winthrop, and Beth Roberts); seven granddaughters; and nine great-grandchildren.
After graduating from Elkville High School, Gene served in the Navy. He later graduated from SIU and went on to work for Universal Match and Olin Corporation. Gene was a dedicated follower of Christ and a member of Elkville First Baptist Church, as well as an avid hunter, fisherman, and gardener.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, August 9, 2026 at the Elkville First Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Slone officiating.
Friends may call from Noon until the time of service at the church on Sunday.
Burial will be in the Elkville Cemetery in Elkville, IL.
Friends may make memorials to the Elkville First Baptist Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
