Howard A. Rath, 89, of Elkville, passed away at 2:25 A.M., Monday, August 11, 2025 at his daughter's residence in Sesser.
Howard had worked as an electrical foreman for BICC Cable.  He enjoyed traveling, camping, and fishing.
He was born June 23, 1936 in Vergennes, IL, the son of Joe and Alta (Spencer) Rath.
He is survived by four children - Robert Rath and wife Lori of Creal Springs, Cheryl Hastings and husband Bryan of Sesser, Kevin Rath of Illinois, and Lisa Richey of Marion, seven grandchildren - Adam Rath, Nickolas Rath, Ryan Hicks, Christin Hicks, Jordan Hicks, Paige Richey, and Kole Richey, seventeen great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and one sister - Verna Bastien of Du Quoin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson - Tyler Rath and two brothers - Leo Rath and Richard Rath.
Private graveside services will be held at the Elkville Cemetery in Elkville, IL.
Burial will be in the Elkville Cemetery in Elkville, IL.
