Idas Elaine Malott, 63, of Du Quoin, passed away at 6:08 A.M., Monday, March 15, 2021 at the SIH Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, IL.
Idas had been a home healthcare aide. She was a member of the United Pentecostal Church in Du Quoin. Idas was the best gift giver.
She was born August 23, 1957 at Redondo Beach, CA, the daughter of Verl and Mary (Overton) Adams.
She married Raymond Malott in 1978 at Du Quoin and he preceded her in death in January of 2007.
She is survived by one daughter - Teggi Peters and husband Greg of Foley, AL, three grandchildren - Sean Peters of Murphysboro, IL, Cortland Peters and Aria Peters, both of Foley, AL, two sisters - Brenda Graham and husband Dave of Du Quoin and Theresa Colmenero and husband Danny of El Paso, TX, one brother - Darrell Adams and wife Marla of Du Quoin, numerous nieces and nephews and many good friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, March 19, 2021 at the United Pentecostal Church in Du Quoin.
Friends may call from 11 A.M. until the time of service on Friday at the church.
Please use social distancing guidelines. Everyone in attendance is required to wear a mask.
Cremation rites will be accorded following the service and burial will be at a later date.
Friends may make memorials to the SIH Cancer Institute and will be accepted at the funeral home.
