Inis Mae Drake, 91, of Carbondale, passed away at 3:45 P.M., Thursday, November 17, 2022 at the SIH Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
Inis had worked at Lusteur Corporation, making labels for bottles. She was a member of Elkville Christian Church. Inis was also a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. She loved to dance and play cards.
She was born November 16, 1931 in Elkville, IL, the daughter of Julian C. and Stella (Shelton) Barnett.
She married Frank E. Drake on June 24, 1962 at the Carbondale Church of God and he preceded her in death on January 18, 1988.
She is survived by one sister - Mary Underwood of Carbondale, nieces and nephews - Don Johnson of California, Mary Sikorski of Energy, Gary Johnson of California, Rick Barnett of Florida, Linda Barnett of DeSoto, David Drake of Georgia, Darren Nelson of Edwardsville, and Matt Nelson of Edwardsville and several great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings - Letha Johnson, Norman Barnett, Cleadus Barnett, Harlan Barnett and Leslie Barnett.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Joe Wagner officiating.
Friends may call from 9 A.M. until the time of service on Tuesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Burial will be in the Murdale Gardens of Memory in Murphysboro, IL.
Friends may make memorials to the American Cancer Society and will be accepted at the funeral home.
