James Harry McClanahan, 68, of Dowell, passed away at 10:24 P.M., Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at the SIH Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.
Jim had worked as a carpenter.
He was born October 8, 1952 at Du Quoin, IL, the son of Charles E. "Bud" and Helen Lorraine (Campbell) McClanahan.
He is survived by two children - Nancy Jones of Du Quoin and Adam Eugene McClanahan of Dowell, his life partner - Teresa Ann Loggins of Dowell, one granddaughter - Adalyn McClanahan of Thompsonville, two grandsons - Marcus Marshall and Cody Jones, both of Du Quoin, three sisters - Donna Steele of Thompsonville, Cecilia Lively of Cambria, and Cynthia Sims of Carterville, and three brothers - Jackie Gene McClanahan of Chester, Daniel McClanahan of Du Quoin, and William McClanahan of Bowling Green, KY.
He was preceded in death by his parents - Charles E. "Bud" McClanahan and Helen Lively, one sister - Nancy McClanahan, and two brothers - Darrell McClanahan and Charles E. McClanahan.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. Searby Funeral Home will update the website when a service time is available.
Friends may make memorials to the family and will be accepted at the funeral home.
