Joe Davis, 86, of Du Quoin, passed away at 9:45 A.M., Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at his residence.
Joe had been owner and manager of Southern Illinois Movers, Inc. for over thirty years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Du Quoin. Joe was a member of the Du Quoin Chamber of Commerce, Du Quoin Elks Lodge, and Sons of the American Legion. He was a 1953 graduate of East Prairie High School.
He was born August 18, 1935 at New Madrid, MO, the son of J.T. and Cynthia (Loomis) Davis.
He married Donna G. (Elder) Stanley in September of 1988 at Las Vegas, NV and she preceded him in death on June 15, 2007.
He i s survived by four sons - Richard A. Davis, Shawn A. Stanley, David C. Stanley, and Christopher Stanley, all of Du Quoin, two daughters - Jo-Ann Lohr of Carbondale and Rhonda Heatherly of Du Quoin, one sister - Barbara A. Smith of Collierville, TN, and numerous grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one son - Steven and one granddaughter - Lacy.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, February 19, 2022 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Joe Wagner officiating.
Friends may call from 9 A.M. until the time of service on Saturday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Mulkeytown, IL.
Friends may make memorials to the First United Methodist Church in Du Quoin and will be accepted at the funeral home.
