John Frederick Schubert, 68, of Tamaroa, passed away at 3:33 P.M., Thursday, May 21, 2026 at his residence surrounded by the love of his family and friends. He will be remembered for his kindness, strength, and wonderful sense of humor that could make anyone laugh.
John was born March 28, 1958 in Tamaroa, IL, the son of Frederick Michael and Emma (Clampet) Schubert.
He married Michelle Pestka on March 31, 1979 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tamaroa, IL and she survives.
John was a devoted husband to Michelle and a loving father, grandfather, and an uncle "Buggs," who
cherished his family deeply. He is survived by his daughters and son in laws, Amanda Warden and her husband, Luke Warden, and Tabitha Kellerman and her husband, Josh Kellerman; his niece, Dana Pestka and Fiancé John Reese, and his sister, Jeana Schubert.
John was a proud and loving grandfather to Alexia Warden and her fiancé, Reid Keene; Laynee Warden; Johnny "JD" Kellerman; Jake Reese; Grace Reese; Caseton Kellerman; Wyatt Warden; Novelle Kellerman; and Wesley Warden. His grandchildren brought him endless joy, and he treasured every moment spent with them.
John was preceded in death by his father, Frederick Michael Schubert; his mother, Emma Rose Schubert; and his brother, Joseph "Jody" Schubert.
Known for being hilarious and making his own personal names for everyone, he was full of life, John had a special way of brightening every room he entered. His laughter, stories, and unforgettable personality will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. John was also well known for his favorites — L nut & R nut — a phrase many who knew him…..will fondly remember.
John will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
