John Stanley "Stan" Logan, 76, of Du Quoin, passed away at 8:57 A.M., Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at his residence.
Stan had worked as head electrical engineer at Consolidated Coal Company. He retired from Inland Steel Mine in Sesser. Stan was a member of Sunfield United Methodist Church. He was a United States Air Force veteran, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. During his service time, he was an electrician at the Minuteman Missile System. He was a member of Mine Electrical Group and Open Pit Mining Association.
He was born July 17, 1946 in Du Quoin, IL, the son of Oran and Flossie (House) Logan.
He married Sue Smith on July 3, 1968 at the Chapel of Malmstrom Air Force Base in Great Falls, MT and she survives.
He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin, one daughter - Elisabeth Collins and husband Brian of Tamaroa, one son - Dr. Jon Logan of Cleveland, OH, two granddaughters - Grace Collins and Sallee Collins, both of Tamaroa, one sister - Beth Lazenby and husband Steve of Tamaroa, one brother - Marion Logan and wife Pam of Tamaroa, one sister-in-law - Caroline Logan of Du Quoin, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother - Stephen Logan.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 P.M., Sunday, November 27, 2022 at the Sunfield United Methodist Church in Sunfield with Rev. Bill Wiggs officiating.
Friends may call from Noon until the time of service on Sunday at the church.
Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin.
