John David Stratton, 65, of Du Quoin, passed away at 8:20 A.M., Saturday, March 18, 2023 at the SIH Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
John had worked as a purchasing agent at Du Quoin Iron Supply and Fare Foods in Du Quoin. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Du Quoin. John was an avid motorcycle rider. He enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting and Du Quoin football. He was a talented carpenter and loved his pets.
He was born January 5, 1958 in Canton, IL, the son of Donald Lee and Beatrice (Brown) Stratton.
He is survived by his wife of eleven years - Andrea L. Moore, three daughters - Stacy Stratton of Du Quoin, Shari Petty and Rick Williams of Pinckneyville, and Stevee Siefert and Colby of Murphysboro, his mother - Beatrice Stratton of Rantoul, IL, grandchildren - Brylee Sizemore, C.J. Stratton, Reese Isaac Petty, Henry Williams, Kinley Siefert, and Kamden Siefert, one step son - Rami Meskaoui of Island Lake, IL, one sister - Alice Marlow and husband Roger of Fisher, IL, one brother - Mark Stratton of Rantoul, IL, and his pets - Dempsey and Dazi.
He was preceded in death by his father and grandmother - Lucille "Nana" Stratton.
Memorial visitation will be from 3 to 5 P.M., Friday, March 24, 2023 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Burial will be at a later date at the Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin.
Friends may make memorials to the Perry County Humane Society and will be accepted at the funeral home.
