Jon Michael Olinger, 65, of Du Quoin, passed away at 9:40 P.M., Sunday, March 10, 2024 at the Deaconess Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana.
Jon had been a truck driver for Barr Trucking.  He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin.  He enjoyed fishing, traveling, auto racing, pontoon boating, and working as a mechanic.  He had the gift of gab and enjoyed making people laugh.
He was born April 23, 1958 in Peoria, IL , the son of Jon Max and Pauline (McCormick) Olinger.
Jon married Debbie Pundsack on March 24, 2003 in Pigeon Forge, TN and she survives.
He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin, mother - Pauline Olinger of Du Quoin, seven children - Josh Olinger and wife Heather of Lawton, OK, Lindsay Brown and husband LA of O'Fallon, IL, Whitney Olinger of O'Fallon, IL, Wesley Olinger and Jordan Warren of Bellville, IL, Steven Olinger and wife Mikelle of Ohio, Kellie May and husband Matt of Du Quoin, and Leslie Milam and husband Matt of Du Quoin, sixteen grandchildren - Devin Olinger, Kinsley Olinger, Jayla Olinger, Aleigha Olinger, LeShawn Olinger, LaYarrah Brown, LaiLonnie Brown, Lala Warren, Teagan Jon Martin Olinger, Lucy Milam, Makenna Milam, Vaida Milam, Bentley Milam, Owen May, Henry May, and Lola May, sister - Paula Hance of Arizona, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 A.M., Friday, March 15, 2024 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin with Fr. Carl Schrage officiating.
Friends may call from 9 A.M. until the time of service on Friday at the church.
Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Du Quoin
Friends may make memorials to Sacred Heart Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
