Joy L. Porter, 74, of Du Quoin, passed away at 4:15 A.M., Sunday, July 28, 2024 at her residence.
Joy had worked as a cashier at the Du Quoin National Bank for ten years.  She then worked as a secretary for Chip Banks Chevrolet.  She was a member of the Old Du Quoin Baptist Church.
She was born June 4, 1950 in Du Quoin, IL, the daughter of Howard and Ruby (Brown) Clark.
She married Richard W. Porter in 1971 in Du Quoin and he survives.
She is survived by her husband of Du Quoin, one brother - Ted Clark and wife Peggy of Pinckneyville, two nephews - Doug Clark and Troy Clark, two nieces - Sarah Smithson and Debbie Smithson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister - Ruth and one niece - Kimberly Clark.
Private family services will be held.
Friends may make memorials to Perry County Humane Society and will be accepted at the funeral home.
