Obituary

Julia Ann Lunnemann (Davison), fortified by the sacraments of the Holy Mother Church, was called to eternal rest on September 21, 2026 after courageously battling pancreatic cancer. Throughout her cancer journey, she carried the same quiet determination and steadfast faith that guided her through life. Born on January 1, 1950 to Thomas & Rose (Powenski) Davison, Julie was raised in Du Quoin, but called Pinckneyville her home for the past 54 years after marrying James Lunnemann on September 15, 1972 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin. He preceded her in death on May 8, 2006. Julie was a devout member of St. Bruno Catholic Church in Pinckneyville.

Julie devoted her life to her family, raising five children alongside her husband and embracing all that came with farm life. She understood that life came in seasons – some filled with abundance and joy, and others marked by hardship and loss. And through every season, her faith remained a steady foundation. A lifelong Catholic, Julie leaned heavily on the intercession of our Blessed Mother, as was shown in her dedication to the holy rosary. She and her husband Jim built a simple yet meaningful life together on the farm, teaching their kids the value of hard work and the importance of responsibility, faith, and family. Over the years, Jim and Julie sacrificed their own wants and needs to give their kids opportunities and experiences they never had.

Julie was blessed with six grandchildren, James Robb of Highland, IL, Matthew Robb of Pinckneyville, and Evelyn, Rose, Calvin and Jacob Wright all of Truxton, MO. Her grandkids were her pride and joy, giving her another generation to love, encourage and teach by example in faith.

Along with her six grandchildren, she is survived by her five children – Jennifer (Rich) Robb of Pinckneyville, Jamie (Chad) Schrader of Du Quoin, Jillian Lunnemann of Troy, MO, Jenea (Trevor) Wright of Truxton, MO, and Jason Lunnemann of Pinckneyville. She is also survived by one brother, Mike (Veronica) Davison of Marion, IL, three sisters-in-law, one niece and four nephews, numerous cousins, and her dog, Penny.  Julie was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother - Lyle "Duke" Davison, sister - Linda Davison, parents-in-law - Jacob and Helen Lunnemann, and one nephew.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, September 25, 2026 at St. Bruno Catholic Church in Pinckneyville with Fr. Brian Barker and Fr. John Igwe officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 7:00 pm on Thursday at the church.  Morning visitation will be from 10 am until the Rosary begins at 10:30 am on Friday at the church.  Burial will be at St. Bruno Catholic Cemetery in Pinckneyville. Memorials can be made to St. Anne Cradle of Hope, Covenant Network, Life Teen, or St. Bruno Catholic Church for mass intentions and will be accepted at the church. Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin, IL is in charge of arrangements.

Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
