Karl A. Mohr, 68, of Energy, IL, passed away at 4:00 P.M., Sunday, January 7, 2024, at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion, IL.
Karl had been a salesman; working in radio and most recently for Pass Heating and Air. Advertising suited him due to his affinity for talking. It has been said he could have a conversation with a brick wall, whether the wall wanted to or not. He loved sports, particularly Du Quoin football. At one time it was possible for him to rattle off 30 years' worth of, mostly accurate, DQFB statistics at will. Karl enjoyed music at every stage in life; and liked hunting, fishing, and swimming in his youth. He was interested in History and was always entertained by a good conspiracy theory. He was his happiest attending Sunday dinners at his parents' house, surrounded by family and delicious food. He was a follower of Christ throughout his life.
He was born November 10, 1955 in Du Quoin, IL, the son of Elmer T. and Joann Ruth (Schafer) Mohr.
He is survived by one daughter - Shelly Tullis and husband Patrick of Lexington, KY, one sister - Lisa Mohr of Du Quoin, one niece - Caron Sullens and husband Andy of Anna, one great niece - Aries Sullens of Anna, one great nephew - Zander Sullens of Anna, special cousins - Dale and Ellen Schafer of Benton, good friend - Jim Justice of Du Quoin and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother - Randy Mohr and one grandson - Elliot Brian Tullis.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, January 20, 2024, at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Fr. Tom Flack officiating.
Friends may call from 10 A.M. until the time of service on Saturday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
