Leland Allen Coffer of Vergennes, IL passed away peacefully on July 22nd, 2025.
Leland was an avid golfer, accomplished bowler, quail hunter and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.  Leland served in the Army Reserve from 1966-1971.  He was also one of the founding members of the Elverado Water District and was a life long farmer in Vergennes township.
He married Marsha (Baskin) Coffer in 1967 and they resided on his farm in Vergennes township/rural Du Quoin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Allen Coffer and Rose Ellen Coffer.
Surviving family members include spouse - Marsha Coffer of Du Quoin, son - Jason Allen Coffer and wife Tammy of Evansville, IN, grandson - Levi Allen Coffer and wife Kaitlyn along with great granddaughter - Avery Elaine Coffer and soon to be great grandson - Brooks Allen Coffer of Newburgh, IN, grandson - Riley Joe Coffer of Evansville, IN, sister - Linda (Coffer) Austin and husband Tom of Benton, MO, along with two nephews and three nieces.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 2, 2025 from 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Memorial service will be at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, August 2, 2025 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with close friends and family officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois, Marion, IL, and will be accepted at the funeral home.
