Lois A. Sawyer, 84, of Du Quoin, passed away at 2:55 A.M., Friday, November 22, 2024 at the Southeast Mercy Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO.
Lois had been a homemaker.  She was a member of Liberty Church in Du Quoin.  Lois enjoyed painting and calligraphy.
She was born November 20, 1940 in Murphysboro, IL, the daughter of Leonard and Lavina (Rust) Chittenden.
She married Chuck Sawyer on January 16, 1965 in Clairmin, IL and he survives.
She is survived by her husband of Du Quoin, four children - Steven Sawyer and wife Beth of Ringgold, GA, Christine Tuthill and husband Craig of St. Louis, MO, David Sawyer of Los Angeles, CA, and Dennis Sawyer and wife Sheila of Ava, IL, three sisters - Carol Carter and husband Dale of Marissa, IL, Rita Smith and husband David of West Virginia, and Betty Politsch and husband Ray of Belleville, IL, and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M., Monday, December 2, 2024 at the Liberty Church in Du Quoin with Rev. Hank Fulk and Rev. Lon McPherson officiating.
Friends may call from 10 A.M. until the time of service on Monday at the church.
Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin at a later date.
Friends may make memorials to Liberty Church Missionary Fund and will be accepted at the funeral home.
