Marianne Louise Showalter, 89, of Du Quoin, passed away at 9:10 P.M., Sunday, January 30, 2022 at the Du Quoin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Marianne had been co-owner of WDQN Radio. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Du Quoin. Marianne had served on numerous boards at the church. She was on the Board of Directors for Five Star Industries. Marianne was a lifelong member of Bridge Club and a member of Monday Club.
She was born March 11, 1932 at Michigan City, IN, the daughter of Major Raymond and Myrtle (Allen) Lankford.
She married Gene R. Showalter on July 21, 1951 at Mt. Carmel, IL and he preceded her in death on April 22, 2017.
She is survived by two children - Debbie Hill and husband Cha and Gordon Showalter, all of Du Quoin, two daughters-in-law - Ruth Showalter and Jenylle Wathen, both of Du Quoin, six grandchildren - Michelle Denny and husband David of Columbia, IL, Brooke Robnett and husband Mark of Bristow, VA, Ashley Hicks and husband Haven of Pinckneyville, Nick Hill and wife Alicia of Du Quoin, A.J. Hill and wife Sasha of Springfield, IL and Nolan Showalter of Du Quoin, and twelve great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons - Greg Showalter and Gary Showalter, one daughter-in-law - Amanda Showalter, one sister and three brothers.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. April Turner officiating.
Friends may call from 10 A.M. until the time of service on Tuesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin.
Friends may make memorials to the First United Methodist Church in Du Quoin and will be accepted at the funeral home.
