Marilyn Sue Boman, age 80, of Du Quoin, IL (formerly of Coulterville, IL) passed away December 25, 2022, in Du Quoin, Illinois.
Sue was born on May 13, 1942 to Harold and Margie (Mulholland) Wasson in Cutler, IL. She married William Steve Boman on January 26, 1974 and he survives. Sue always had a smile on her face, her door was always open, and she loved her children, grandchildren, and all of her very large family with all of her heart. She hosted extended-family Christmas gatherings for many years, making special memories for everyone who ever attended. She gave her undivided attention when she had visitors, and never made anyone feel rushed to leave. She touched the hearts and lives of everyone she met.
Sue was Blessed with five children - Cheryl (Joe) Eaton, Steven (Jeni Watson) Lively, Michael (Dawn) Lively, Jana (Wes) Klamm, and Ryan (Mickey) Boman. Seventeen grandchildren - Matt Eaton, Holly (Derek) Velazco, Mike (Emily Snider) Lively, Natasha (Levi Keyser) Haltenhoff, Travis (Sarah) Lively, Brittany (Kyle) Heisner, Brandon Lee (Logan Lynn) Spain, Logan (Madison Dennis) Spain, Tori (Brandon) Mayes, Allissa Klamm, Joseph Klamm, Hailey Boman, Regan Boman, Jon Maurer, Bailey Watson, Wyatt Lively, and Abel Lively, and eleven great grandchildren. Sue is also survived by her sisters Judy (Joel) Tolliver, Erjuana (Robert) Hartmann, brother Chip (Christy) Wasson, and brother-in-law Randy Hillyard.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Margie, mother-in-law Eva Boman, her sister Diane Hillyard, very special cousin Virgil Lincks, and her sweet niece Jill LaVieri.
Friends may call from 5 - 7 p.m., Thursday, December 29, 2022 at Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin and from 7:30 - 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 30, 2022, with funeral service at 10 a.m. at Searby Funeral Home. A graveside interment at Sunset Memorial Park, Du Quoin, Illinois, will be held immediately following the funeral service.
Memorials can be made to the Alzheimer's Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
