Marsha M. Whitley, 79, of Du Quoin, passed away at 12:30 A.M., Sunday, August 4, 2024 at the Du Quoin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Marsha had been a homemaker.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Du Quoin.  Marsha enjoyed traveling, Christmas time and her family.
She was born August 6, 1944 in Du Quoin, IL, the daughter of Harley L. and Pauline (Wilks) Krone.
She married Gerald H. Whitley, Sr. on August 10, 1962 in Du Quoin, IL and he survives.
She is survived by her husband of Du Quoin, five children - Cindy Swayne and husband Bruce of Belleville, IL, Sherry O'Brien and husband Jim of Webster Grove, MO, Denise Harrison and husband Kevin of Du Quoin, Gerald H. Whitley, Jr. and wife Laura of Du Quoin, and Jeff Whitley and Tara Brandon of Herrin, IL, three brothers - Paul Krone of Tamaroa, David Krone and wife Susie and Mark Krone and wife Kathy, all of Du Quoin, eleven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and father-in-law and mother-in-law - Herschel and Evelyn Whitley.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, August 8, 2024 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Joe Wagner officiating.
Friends may call from 9 A.M. until the time of service on Thursday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin.
Friends may make memorials to Alzheimer's Association, NubAbility, Tunnels to Towers, or Shriners Hospitals for Children and will be accepted at the funeral home.
