Martha Ann Gant, 62, of Du Quoin, passed away at 9:12 A.M., Thursday, February 1, 2024 at her residence.
Martha had been a factory worker at IPG tape manufacturing in Carbondale.  She was a member of the Du Quoin Second Baptist Church.  Martha was active with the food pantry.
She was born September 24, 1961 in Du Quoin, IL, the daughter of Arthur Paul and Bessie Mae (Tanner) Gant.
She is survived by her mother - Bessie Gant of Du Quoin, three siblings - Paula Kurtz and husband Harold of Tamaroa, Roger Gant and wife Lori of Mulkeytown, and Mary Melvin and husband Leroy of Florence, AL, nephews - Kevin Kurtz, Paul Kurtz, Ryan Melvin, Tyson Melvin, and Sean Melvin, nieces - Ashley Ramsey, Alisha Gant, and Emma Montgomery, and several great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, maternal and paternal grandparents and one nephew - Jason Kurtz.
Funeral services will be at Noon, Monday, February 5, 2024 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Devon Downard and Rev. Sean Melvin officiating.
Friends may call from 10 A.M. until the time of service on Monday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Burial will be in the Old Du Quoin Cemetery in Du Quoin, IL.
Friends may make memorials to Du Quoin Second Baptist Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
