Martin D. Rushing, 57, of Cobden, formerly of Du Quoin, passed away at 3:19 P.M., Thursday, March 14, 2024 at the Cobden Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Cobden.
Martin was of the Southern Baptist faith.
He was born July 12, 1966 in St. Louis, MO, the son of William Carl and Carolyn Sue (Hill) Rushing.
Martin is survived by his mother - Sue Rushing of Du Quoin, two brothers - Andrew Carl Rushing of Du Quoin and Alex William Rushing of Indiana, one sister - Kelly Sue Rushing of Mechanicsburg, PA, one uncle - James Holderfield of Carterville, one aunt  - Shirley Holderfield of Marion and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father - Bill Rushing, Uncle - Bob Holderfield, Aunt - Ethel Holderfield, and Uncle - Laverne Hill.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 A.M., Monday, March 18, 2024 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Joe Wagner officiating.
Friends may call from 9 A.M. until the time of service on Monday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery in Carterville.
Friends may make memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and will be accepted at the funeral home.
