Marty A. Gibson, 52, of Tamaroa, passed away at 3:13 A.M., Thursday, February 1, 2024 at the SIH Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.
Marty had worked in construction and was licensed in asbestos and lead removal.  He enjoyed fishing, karaoke, and collection coins.
He was born September 8, 1971 in Du Quoin, IL, the son of Julie Gibson.
He is survived by two daughters - Caylie Gibson and Carlie Gibson, both of Du Quoin, his mother and step father - Julie and Chuck Zoeckler of Tamaroa, fiancé - Michelle Whitis of Tamaroa, one brother - Mark Szczeblewski of Tamaroa, one sister - Jill Szczeblewski of Ozark, IL, three uncles - Roger Gibson of Herrin, Kenny Gibson of Du Quoin, and George Davison of Tamaroa, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandma - Lorene Davison, aunt - Patti Klump, and special aunt - Florene Walters.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
