Marvin G. Keith, 92, of Tamaroa, passed away at 3:40 A.M., Sunday, June 18, 2023 at the Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion, IL.
Marvin had worked as an oiler on a dragline at Burning Star #4 Coal Mine.  He was also a retired farmer.  Marvin was a United States Army veteran.  He was of the Baptist faith.  Marvin was a member of UMWA Local 1825 and had served as secretary for many years.  He was also a member of Pinckneyville Masonic Lodge.
He was born March 21, 1931 in Pinckneyville, IL, the son of Emery M. and Edith Blanche (Uhles) Keith.
He is survived by one daughter - Janis Chandler of Pinckneyville, one son - Marion Keith of Du Quoin, five grandchildren - Lynn Rheinecker, Jane Hock and husband David, Maci Chandler, Grant Keith, and Kelcey Cunico and husband Adam, four great grandchildren - McKenna Hock, Ayden Hock, Alayna Justynski, and Ashton Westfall.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother - Norman Keith, one sister - Pauline House and one infant brother.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, June 22, 2023 at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa with Rev. Collin Hirsch officiating.
Friends may call from 9 A.M. until the time of service on Thursday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa.
Burial will be in the Holts Prairie Cemetery in Pinckneyville.
