Marvlin Ann Cook, 82, of Royalton, passed away at 11:13 P.M., Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at the Herrin Hospital.
Marvlin had been a homemaker.  She was a member of the Royalton First Baptist Church.  She enjoyed helping others, watching wrestling, cooking, and especially enjoyed making christmas candy.  She was a loving grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her grandson.
She was born February 15, 1943 in Hill Top, KY, the daughter of Wilburn and Madelyn (King) Chitwood.
Marvlin married James Leonard Cook on December 11, 1961 in Du Quoin, IL and he preceded her in death on August 26, 2023.
She is survived by one son - Kevin Cook and wife Erin of Royalton and one grandson - Darren Cook of Royalton.
Marvlin was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sisters - Shirley Doty, Eleanor (Toots) Tucker, Sarah Edwards, and Betty Greathouse.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Mario Ramos officiating.
Friends may call from 9 A.M. until the time of service on Wednesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Burial will be in the Blairsville Cemetery in Blairsville, IL.
Friends may make memorials to the Blairsville Cemetery and will be accepted at the funeral home.
