Mary Louise Ragland,96, of Tamaroa, Illinois, passed away at 11:00PM on March 31, 2022 at the Fair View Rehabilitation and Healthcare.
Mary was a beloved daughter, wife and mother. She was a dairy farm operator and homemaker. She belonged to the American Dairy Association, Perry County Farm Bureau and Bear Point Baptist Church.
She was born November 26, 1925, in Jefferson County, Illinois, the daughter of Lionel B. McBride and Ethel A. (Walker) McBride.
She married Charles E. Ragland, Sr., on July 14, 1943 in Franklin County, Illinois. He preceded her in death on January 18, 2013.
She is survived by six children-Gayla Yung and husband, Bill, of Sesser, Mark Ragland of Sesser, Jeff Ragland, Sr., and wife Sharon, of Tamaroa, Lee Ann Ragland Williams of Herrin, Anita Lovelady and husband Steve, of Tamaroa, and Charles Ragland, Jr., and wife, Lori, of Sesser, Illinois, one sister-Linda Acosta of Sesser, one sister-in-law-Jean Ragland of Tamaroa, 22 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter-Colleen Sue Taylor, one sister and brother-in-law-Mona Guziejka and husband, Ed, one brother-Austin Allen McBride, one brother-in-law-Al Acosta, one grandson-Clayton Charles Ragland, and two great granddaughters-Mattison Ragland and Kaitlyn Laskowski.
Funeral services will be at 11:00AM, Thursday, April 7, 2022 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Larry Cook and Rev. John Hollis, Sr., officiating.
Friends may call from 9:00AM until time of service at Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Burial will be in the Paradise Cemetery in Tamaroa.
Friends may make memorials to the American Heart Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
