Maxine J. Piper, 72, of Benton, passed away at 5:36 A.M., Sunday, August 28, 2022 at the Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Maxine had worked as a customer service manager at Wal-mart and retired in 2017. She was of the Pentecostal faith.
She was born July 3, 1950 in Tamaroa, IL, the daughter of Kenneth O. and Pruda M. (Wynn) George.
She married David Randall Piper on November 4, 1979 in Pinckneyville, IL and he survives.
She is survived by her husband of Benton, one brother - Kenneth B. George and wife Suzie of Tamaroa, two sisters - Patsy Lipe of Pinckneyville and Dawn Barnes and husband Bill of Johnson City, TN, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, September 1, 2022 at the First Apostolic Church in Zeigler, IL with Rev. Jason Todd officiating.
Friends may call from 9 A.M. until the time of service on Thursday at the church.
Burial will be in the Paradise Cemetery in Tamaroa, IL.
Friends may make memorials to the American Cancer Society and will be accepted at the funeral home.
