Melissa Harris, 53, of Du Quoin, passed away at 4:48 P.M., Friday, April 26, 2024 at the SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, IL.
Melissa had worked as a laborer.
She was born June 14, 1970 in Pinckneyville, IL, the daughter of Sandra Presswood.
She is survived by two daughters - Beth Gassel and Tricia Melvin, both of Du Quoin, two brothers - Danny Davis of Ina and James Davis of Marion, and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother and one son - Richard Gassel.
Per Melissa's request, cremation rites were accorded.
There will be no public visitation or service.
