Melissa Anne Knight

Melissa Anne Knight, 45, of Du Quoin, passed away at 8:05 A.M., Friday, November 6, 2026 at her residence.

Melissa had been a manager at Du Quoin Pizza Hut and was currently working at Traditions. She had also been a caregiver for several people. She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Du Quoin. Melissa loved music, going to concerts and traveling. She enjoyed time with her family and friends. Melissa never met a stranger. She was a very hard worker.

She was born April 10, 1981 in Du Quoin, IL, the daughter of Mark K. and Zena Marie (Van Horn) Knight.

She is survived by her parents of Du Quoin, one sister - Jennifer Knight and spouse Lora of Evansville, IN, two nieces - Cally Smith and Lucy Smith, uncles - Jon Knight and spouse Nancy and Galen Knight, all of Du Quoin, cousin - Josh Knight and spouse Kayla and their children Jericho Knight and Evie Knight.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents - Roy and Bonita Knight and Clarence and Thelma Van Horn.

Per Melissa’s request, cremation rites were accorded.

There will be no public visitation or funeral service.

Friends may make memorials to Perry County Humane Society and will be accepted at the funeral home.
